See where ships are around the world
This was just shared with me.
Neat site, you can see where ships are traveling and get info on the ships. http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/def...0&type_color=3 |

I have this app on my Droid as well. It even is starting to track inland river Towboats and other vessels. Works great!!

Looking at the Gulf of Mexico, there are several "unspecified ships" near the center of the gulf that show 50-80kt speeds. Something doesn't add up....
Also looked in the BVIs and see NeckerBelle traveling 11.8kts at 334*. Branson must be on a cruise this week Very cool, though! |
Cool site. Noticed everybody turns it off rounding the point by Somila. Wonder why LOL

do you guys know for all of you that have chartplotters most of them accept AIS information. Companies like Garmin sell an AIS receivers. Some only receive and some transmit also so the big ships can see you. They are a black box that shows the targets on your plotter.
Nice feature if you live where there is fog or waterways that have commercial traffic traveling on lakes and rivers. |
Somebody should let those whale wars schmucks in on this!!!
