Looks like the transom has already been pushed forward about a foot by all that power. I'm just wondering how long that fabulous chopper gun construction will hold up to the power of a 2.5. Anybody got a stopwatch?

decent entry level boats until lifting one off it's trailer to paint the bottom. Used a floor jack w/blocks where I thought it would be strong. You could pump the handle 3 times before the rest of the boat moved!
You could sight down the bottom and see every cross member in the hull.

Worked at a Evinrude dealer back in the 80's and had a customer try to buy a V-8 GT 300 for his 17' Bayliner. Said he'd sign a release etc, etc.
Only smart thing that marina owner ever did was tell the guy no.

So, did he give you a run or were you afraid of being pelted with fiberglass pieces when he got out front ?
