Gotta be a fun ride:lolhit:

ActiveFun 07-05-2011 03:07 PM

What a waste.

t500hps 07-05-2011 03:17 PM

We have "brothers" with $500 cars and $2,500 rims.......now we have the same thing on the water!!!!

ActiveFun 07-05-2011 03:19 PM

True.

Too Stroked 07-05-2011 06:28 PM

Looks like the transom has already been pushed forward about a foot by all that power. I'm just wondering how long that fabulous chopper gun construction will hold up to the power of a 2.5. Anybody got a stopwatch?

Twin O/B Sonic 07-05-2011 07:12 PM

I almost had myself convinced they were....

decent entry level boats until lifting one off it's trailer to paint the bottom. Used a floor jack w/blocks where I thought it would be strong. You could pump the handle 3 times before the rest of the boat moved!
You could sight down the bottom and see every cross member in the hull.

Worked at a Evinrude dealer back in the 80's and had a customer try to buy a V-8 GT 300 for his 17' Bayliner. Said he'd sign a release etc, etc.
Only smart thing that marina owner ever did was tell the guy no.

So, did he give you a run or were you afraid of being pelted with fiberglass pieces when he got out front ? :coolcowboy:

J/K but someone is a little crazy....

HAHA,
Is that Baypines? I launch there about once i week, I will have to keep an eye out for that screamer.

Sydwayz 07-05-2011 08:19 PM

Is it maybe just a 125 with funny stickers?

Michael1 07-05-2011 09:28 PM

I have to admit, it is one of the better looking Bayliners I've seen.

And probably faster than 1/2 the boats on this board. :)

RebarBox 07-05-2011 09:33 PM

Related to Triple Digits?:evilb:

TeamSaris 07-05-2011 10:10 PM

Anyone else see an aluminium prop?

That's what I was thinking too.

Combine light weight due to shoddy construction and a high rpm, high hp motor, and you have a fast boat...if it holds together.

endeavor1 07-05-2011 10:33 PM

Honestly, I would cry as it more than likely did pass me..... :angry-smiley-038: :boat::angry-smiley-055:

At least I can admit it though...... :grinser010:

obrien 07-05-2011 10:46 PM

I saw that boat for sale at one of the consignment lots by baypines a few weeks back. I wanted to see if they would sell the motor.

Twin O/B Sonic 07-06-2011 07:08 AM

Used to be a Bayliner cruiser on an inland lake in Columbus when I was still there. Was maybe 23', straight cruiser and looked like a box. Had a fairly radical small block in it with through hulls :)
Was always hilarious to be hanging out at the cove and hear this radical boat on it's way in before you could see it then this box would appear ;)
And yeah, there's probably another 10 MPH's w/a decent wheel and jack plate.

I think so, but I also think it had a brass colored hub. This one looks like it is all black.

Twin O/B Sonic 07-06-2011 10:54 AM

No.

Blades were stainless. I blew up one of the first ones in the country. Multiple times. Worked on paper.

US1 Fountain 07-06-2011 10:58 AM

I had a couple L&S props yrs ago. One had a gold hub, other was blue. Both had SS blades.
Doubt aluminum blades would have held up....twisting the shifting stubs right off.

Worked good when clean. put a little grit in them, heaps.
