Life Jacket Law

The DNR in Iowa is starting a trial life jacket law at Red Rock lake in 2012 for any size vessel and passengers of any age. All passengers must wear a life jacket at all times while on the boat.

It appears the state is doing this at one of the lakes to see how much push back there is.

Are there any other states doing the same or have in effect the same law?

It would be interesting to see that law in states that have cruise ships. I can see it now, sitting in the dining room enjoying the "captains dinner" night, and all 3000 people have their life jackets on. I think sometimes they go to far with the laws. I understand laws to stop foolish people from hurting innocent people, but mandatory pfd's is going too far. If I fall overboard and drown, how does that affect anybody but me and my loved ones ? It certainly doesn't put anybody else in danger. Enough is enough. Little by little, our lives are being controlled for us. Thank God I didn't dring kids into this ridiculous place we live in. My opinion.
