Where's KN...Winni on July 21

It's getting close to my big trip up north and thought I better check in with the Winnipesaukee group. Back in January KN mentioned an OSO get together on July 21st. Is that still on, and if so, when and where do I go to meet up with everyone? I'll be staying at Samoset resort on the water in Gilford.

Hey KN, has the ice melted yet???????

Also, I'm still planning a Thousand Island run while in NY if anyone is interested. I'll be in NY from July 25/26 to August 8/9. I'm staying in Palmyra and will hit several lakes while I'm there. Looking forward to meeting some of you.

I'd be interested, and I know a number of others would be too.

BTW the ice has melted, but the water temp is in the mid 50s. I can personally attest that it has an amazing effect on the male anatomy!:D

Sonicdude

Can you say SHINKAGE???

bajadude 06-04-2002 11:58 AM

Yeah, but when you don't start off with much, losing 50% ain't no big deal!:(

Anyway, if you haven't been to Samoset, I think you'll like it. I'm in Paugus Bay, only a few miles away.

Let us know if you need anything before or when you get up here.

Sonicdude...or is it sonicboy??

Thanks for the offer. I think we'll be in good shape as my brother has a couple of condos at Samoset. I have not been there but it sounds nice. I may have a problem with the boat though. Samoset only allow boats under 26 feet (that's docked and on the trailer) so I my need to find a place to park it for a few days. Do you know of a place near Samoset that has room for a 32'? ( on the trailer is fine)

I beg your pardon ..... :D

Ames Farm is right down the road (maybe a mile or so). They have 2 ramps and a large grass area where they let people keep their boats. They have (had) an arrangement where you can rent a spot for your boat and have open access to the launch ramps.

I know people who have gone that way for the summer season. I'm sure you could make shorter term arrangements. Don Ames is a pretty good guy.

here's a link:

Keep us posted about an OSO get togther. I'd be happy to help out with any arrangements.

Sonicdude are you going to get out this weekend.

SeaDated 06-04-2002 01:14 PM

Sonicdude

Thanks. That place sound perfect. Ames Farm it is. I'll get my brother to check on it this weekend. I'll keep you up to date on the OSO get together as soon as I hear back from KN. I hope things are still on for the 21st.

Where's KN???????????

bajadude 06-05-2002 11:22 AM

AttitudeAdjusta,

That's the plan. The boat "should" be ready, the dock "should" be ready. But then again, everything was supposed to be ready 2 weeks ago.

Which Sonic do you have?

AttitudeAdjusta 06-05-2002 11:46 AM

Sonicdude, I have the only 358 on the lake.
the boats name is Attitude Adjuster. I'll be out on lake most of the weekend. By the way I notice that the winni board deleted us out of the post about racing on the lake.(no sense of humor)
If you want to reach me this weekend try my cell #508-839-0598

Here I am:) , The 21st it is, I know its a bad weekend to get rooms but it sounds like most of the guys interested either live locally of can drive up for the day. SeaDated I can meet you at the ramps at Ames Farms at 9:00 AM or any time and we can all hook up somewhere. SonicDude and Winni are local to the area so they may have the best ideas of were we could all meet and hang out. I will call the state park if we want to go there and we get a definate number on who is coming. When I get a chance later tonight I will sent personal e-mails to everyone that posted or showed an interest in our get together, there was around 17 people. I will try to organize this best I can, but if someone else wants to take over or help that would be great. I'm looking foward to it.

Noticed the posts were deleted too. Can't really imagine why though. I just figured it was going to be another one of those trashing performance boat threads. I'm really getting sick of a lot of those people's additudes. Especially when most of the crappy driving comes from the bow riding crowd. Guess there just jealous that a 4 footer doesn't bother us too much! Its getting to the point that I don't think I'll even bother to check that forum out anymore. Thank god for the OSO!

Anyway, I think I know you / your boat. Met at Naswa a while back before you got the Sonic. Had a Checkmate then didn't you?

If all goes well, I'll be out this weekend, and will try to hook up. I'll also see if we can get BajaBob and few of the other guys to join in the OSO get together.

See ya .....

KN

That sounds great however, I may need to back the time up till 10:00AM. The earlier the better for me but my crew, three girls, don't agree. For some strange reason they think sleep is better than boating. I think they need to see a doctor. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to meeting some of you. I have never boated on that lake and hear it can be dangerous without a chart so an escort will be great. Thanks for putting this together.

See you soon.

Winni 06-07-2002 12:50 AM

Hi everyone,

Would love to make it over on Winni as I'm picking up our boat this Saturday morning from Independent Marine after having the lower unit re-sealed.

We have a place on Newfound Lake [Bristol] and have some interior work that needs to be done before a certain deadline. If I can, I'll try to be on the big lake.to say hello to you. Thought Ellacoya State park [near Ames Farm] would be a good place to hang and grill for a while. You can pull up to the left side of the beach, this is in front of the camping area and let "Ranger Rick" know you're there for $3.00 a head to be on the safe side. There is a large swim area and floats are allowed too.

As to the new ones on the lake, and no escort, watch out for the "Witches", this is just off Governors Island area, and stay with some of the bigger boats. If you see a lower unit drop, throw out your anchor real quick!!!!!:D :D

Hope to see someone around. Also, there is an Easter Seal Poker run on July 13, the donation is $40.00. Would like to get somebody together for this one if anyone is interested. Please advise. If any info is needed to the local area, I'm within 8 miles of Meredith bay area and can send/obtain anything you request-within reason!! :D :D

SeaDated 06-07-2002 07:43 AM

Thanks Winni. We are up for about anything. Can't wait. Hope the water warms up. My kids are use to warm water, around mid 80's. They turn a funny shade of blue/gray in the "cooler" stuff.
