Default Has Anyone Heard about a Velocity Stolen in S. Florida?

Yesterday we had the pleasure of being stopped by one of the local law enforcement's marine patrol unit. The officer mentioned he stopped us because he didn't see our registration numbers and that a Velocity had just been reported stolen in Miami. He never gave me any details other than "we figured it wasn't you since you didn't try to outrun us", my 70yr old father told him- if we stole this boat would we have stopped for lunch at Frenchy's?

Went through the usual safety equipment check etc.. Both officers were friendly and very courteous I just wondered if the stolen boat story was an excuse to stop us for safety/sobriety check.

Was there a Velocity recently stolen in S.Florida?
