Griff I too heard horror stories about progressive, by when I got my fountain @ 23 they were the only company to insure me!! Then last fall I was involved in a hit & run by a pontoon that totaled in $25k in damages on my boat. Got home called adjuster was out the next day they called & told me to go get estimates @ places of my choice. Gave them the estimates & thy said take it to who you liked best regardless of price, made my choice wrote me the check the next week & stayed w/ updates all the way thru the process.... Just renewed w/ them this month premium only went up $10 a month..... I was expecting to get dropped!!!!

I have Progressive, I pay $920 yr on my 2003 32 Advantage. Twin BB. I used to have USAA, but they stopped writing policies for boats under like 40'. Progressive is who they sent me to. Never had a claim though. (hope I don't either)

Had a claim with progressive after my boat was hit a Shady Gators along with 2 other progressive insured boats. I was not at fault but I still paid my deductable and got the boat fixed. Progressive went after the party involved and got the full settlement and mailed me back my deductable. All within 3-4 months of me reporting it.

Trick is to make it a slam dunk case for them and give them as much information as possible. The less work an insurance company has to do the faster they work. This kinda just goes for everything in the buisness world....sad but true

What I have found with progressive is it depends on who the inspector is.....My rep is amazing but our local inspector SUCKS.... tried to fix my drive with a bunch of foreign aftermarket products instead of original factory parts. The inspector 30 miles from here is much better so I simply took my boat to the other county and everything was fixed with no questions asked.

Just use the advanced search and type in progressive and search the insurance and finance section and you will see plenty more of the same.
