28 Donzi vs 25 Outlaw
Im wondering which one has more cockpit space. I like the donzi because the option of having twins vs the single. Cabin isn't that important since I will not be overnighting. Also which will handle rough water better? Any other pros, cons on the two would be appreciated. Thanks.

Id go with the 28 donzi....overall bigger both with twin engines...better ride in the rough.....especially if you gonna boat in clear lake/galveston bay area.....

Go with my 28 apache in the OSO classifieds. Much better rough water boat than the donzi. Doubt you'll see any noticable change in cabin space until you get to 32ft.

I'm kinda leaning towards the donzi myself. Money wise they can be had for about the same. @ Tex I would love to have a Brave, we had one when I was younger, it was a center consule with twin johnson 225's. Great boats, but I am finanacing and a 1990 would be tuff to get it.

just out of curiousity - why are you comparing a 25 Outlaw to a 28 Donzi? Donzi makes a 25' or 26' dont they? so you are at least comparing apples to apples...or compare the 29' Outlaw to the 28' Donzi if you want twins. Or did i just mis-interpret and you have two boats in particular that you like and one is a 28 and the other happens to be a 25.

Not trying to be a jerk, but if that Donzi is a ZX model, some boats in that series did have handling issues. Make sure you take both for a test drive and put them through some real turns before buying.

as with ANY step bottom boat, DO NOT put it thru any real turns while the drives are trimmed down. |
I have never heard anything bad about them except stress cracks around the dash. I think I've pretty much made my mind up on the zx if everything works out. If not I will maybe join yall's ranks of ownership at the beginning of 2012. Thanks for all the replies.

Again its not really a fair comparison. You might want to look around a bit more, lots of deals to be had...

Thank you |
The 28 Apache would be a good one if you can get it done. Perfect for your area, fresh water since refurb., and aluminum trailer. Worth a look if you can work out the $.
How do the hours compare on the two particular boats you are looking at? |
