Default Old Guages - cracking/hazing

what are my options when those original gauges have finally hazed up and spyder web cracked from all the heat and sun abuse, ive got a couple showing their age after 15yrs in the boat. can you just get the lenses replaced on them or does anyone make some "magic" in a bottle that brings them back to life kinda like a headlight that hazes up? or are they just done and need to be pulled out and replaced?

thanks in advance

It depends on what brand gauges. Livorsi can replace/rebuild theirs. I'm guessing that yours are probably Farias though.

Are they labled Gaffrig Precision Instruments(which is now Livorsi) or labled Gaffrig Performance???

If Gaffrig Precision Instruments, then they are Livorsi and can be sent in to be fixed. Not sure about Gaffrig Performance.

well i just pulled up a picture and zoomed into the face of the gauge...just says gaffrig, naturally - nothing can be that simple for me...lol. they are just the stock components that came in my 97 Outlaw.

Gauges can be refaced, and calibrated when there, which should be done. You get the gauges calibrated when you send them for new faces. Call Gaffrig

Look at them in person. It will say one or the other in very small type.

Contact Autometer, I had them rebuild several different gauges for me over the years. I think they will rebuild most brands.

will22 ...I had the same issue drove me crazy, what I did believe it or not was I melted the len's out (there plastic) with a soldering iron, the whole circle then had plastic cut to size at a place here called Falcon Plastics then had small rings (1/8") cut by a sign company to put over the new lens to hide the melted plastic that I couldn't get at, silicone them on... looks great and all under $40.00 and I did 7 guages
