Carbon Monoxide = dead. I have a cruiser as well as the Cig and every year on the cruiser forums we read about someone who died in their sleep in the cabin with a portable genny running on the swim platform or such. PLEASE THINK BEFORE DOING THIS!

cruisair carry on air conditioner

Find one of these units, I use the same type works great just drop it in the HATCH.

I hook a hose to the drain and feed it over the side of the boat. Found ours on craigs list.

I have one of these and they are great. It will freeze you out of the cabin on the 35 Cig.

I think its a Crusiair 5000. I bought it used from a guy thinking I was going to use it and never did. It works perfect and blows cold, I just never used it on the boat.
Shoot me a pm if interested.

LG portable ac unit in my 38 PQ, bought it at Home Depot. Run the vent out door and put towel over door opening. Lift it in at home and no one in the marina even knows I have it. $249 LG or $1250 from West Marine? Redneck yes, works great yes.

The BPACT08WT is only 16.5 x 11.5 x 26 inches, I think it is a portable ac unit suitable for use on board.

I had a $100 5k btu window unit from Home Depot I carried in my old Chaparral for almost 10 years. Put a piece of carpet under it so it didn't scratch the glass. Placed it so it slightly overhung the edge of the hatch opening, dropped the hatch down on top of it and covered most of it up with a heavy beach towel. Didn't work very good until I figured out I needed a piece of cardboard to separate the inlet and outlet. After that it rocked. Cabin temps dropped down to the upper 50's when it was upper 80's outside. It looked redneck for sure, but I slept very well curled up in my sleeping bag. I kept it stowed where the potti was originally along with it's extension cord, piece of carpet and cardboard. Tried to overnight w/o A/C once in the summer. I'll never make that mistake again.
