Fundeck from mold to completion

So this is interesting because so far the build post that we've done have been from after the boat came out of the mold. We'll as I'm typing this our gelcoater is working on another Fundeck so we will be following his progress in this forum throughout the day. Here's the first two pics!

Cool thread, looking forward to seein it come together! Curious though, why do you do the colors in the gelcoat versus spraying paint on a white hull? Whats the advantage?

You would never want to spray onto the hull, it's far more permanent and advantageous to do it all in the mold if you have the capability to. Essentially comparing gelcoat to spray paint is like concrete to blacktop. Make sense?

Hope you all are still enjoying the updates, I personally think this is a fascinating part of the process. Here some more pics!

Amazing what a skilled artist can do with normally unimpressive materials, isn't it?

I'm very excited to see this one completed myself.

Also, if anyone has questions about the process or the boat feel free to bring them up. I will get them answered, but as for now. Here are some more updates :)
