Find someone to buy it for more than he paid for it and save him future headaches....on a serious note buy a handful of cooler cups or towels that match his color scheme and have the name of his boat placed on them, assuming he named the boat?

Here's an idea, get him some kind of ethanol detector. Make sure he doesn't fill it on the trailer at a normal gas station. marine dock only.
While mine doesn't get filled with ethanol, I have some kind of gas leak and they are pressure testing Monday. Might be derigging the whole thing, ticked in advance.

No gifts necessary, just a whole lot of apologies, forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever, you get the point. I always tell people that are considering buying a boat, buying the boat is the easiest and cheapest part of being a boat owner, unfortunately for many of us, we were brought up boating so it's in our blood, ( although I can think of worse things )

A friend coupon for a free weeks stay on your couch, for when she finds out what he spent on upgrdes, a nice hat so he can throw it through the door to check to see if she if it is safe to enter, and bottle of good bourbon with cigars for you to share.
