I am a naval architect developing operator training classes for high-speed craft, and I am looking for reference material on setting trim tabs for operations at high speeds in large waves.

Is anyone aware of training materials, books, magazine or journal articles, etc. that discuss adjusting tabs to reduce slamming shocks while pounding through waves? I am especially interested in anything that mentions adjusting tabs on a wave by wave basis.

There was a recent article about "rescue operations" or procedures in a boating mag (in the last 3 months) but I do not remember which one. It discussed the operation of rescue craft in different water/weather conditions and approaches. Try a search of the major mag web sites. good luck.
