JIMMY Buffett lost control of his seaplane at the Palm Beach airport last Saturday and decimated a runway sign. Buffet was unharmed when "an updraft caused one of his wingtips to take out a 'Hold Short' sign at the intersection of Runway 9-Left and Runway 13," FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said. It wasn't Buffett's first close call with his seaplane. In 1994, he crashed in Nantucket Harbor, managing to swim to safety, and in 1996, he dodged bullets from Jamaican authorities who mistook him for a drug smuggler and forced him to land.

And you are all bashing him why? What has he ever done to you? The man minds his own buisness, makes a living, hasn't killed, raped, robed, insulted anyone. He sings and goes back to his own little island. sure in jealous, but I like a couple of his songs,,,, I mean , who doesnt smile when they hear " why don't we get drunk and screw " !!!!?????

I don't care for his political views, but some of his old stuff it still my favorites. I don't care for Ozzy's behaviour either, but I still love Black Sabbath.:)

Jimmy Buffet is financing the Save the Manatee's club. He is trying to get powerboating outlawed in Florida. That's why he is not liked here.:mad:

Maybe you Florida guys should start a save the runway signs movement and stop him from flying. That sign could've been a mother and now there is a baby sign somewhere that can't be breast fed.:(

I have been a Buffet fan for a long time, but from how I understand you guys explaination of his politics, I don't feel right helping him support his idealisms. To think of a Powerboating Mecca like Florida and the Keys being strangled by ever tightening laws, is kinda sickening. I'm still gonna listen to his music (A Pirate looks at 40 is becoming a theme song) but I'm not buying anymore,unless he rights a sequal to "Where the hell is Joe Merchant" that was a great book.:cool:

I didnt know Mr Buffett was such an arse, I figured he was as laid back about things as his songs seem to be. Oh well maybe someone needs to take him on a good boat ride :D
I wonder how he feels when a bird gets whacked when it hits the props on his plane.
