Hot Rod Pontoon!! Anyone seen this?

Water Glide

Check this out, How to turn your Pontoon in to a Skater!:D

Actually I was thinking about trying one of these on my 20ft Pontoon that we Painted Camo and use for Hunting and Fishing!
I'll try to post some pic.'s of it soon.

What do you guy's think? Would it work? Is it like having a center pod cat?

As I recall the shoot out has a class for pontoons. The top speed last year was something like 80mph!

They do have at least one at the Shootout. I think it has a couple of big outboards on the back.

Thanks for the post!

Hmmmm, this could be just the ticket for my fully enclosed 30' Crest.

I wonder if it would make the boat more tippy than it already is though??

That's it DAZE,,, your grounded...

I've come to the conclusion that you are WORSE (better) than Nort. you whip pics out of your ass for any occasion faster than Magic Johnson can give 2,000 women aids.. :D :D ;) ;) :p :p

I've seen pics of the guys who race pontoon boats. It's amazing how fast they do go.

I know how you can do something similar to any pontoon boat.
Sneak up behind any 8 to 10 ft boat, gun the throttle and run it over till it gets jammed underneath, instant Water Glide.:D :D :D

HavasuCat 06-06-2002 03:22 PM

There was one at Havasu a couple of years ago with a blown big block. I never saw it run, just cruising through the channel with the engine exposed. I thought the guy must me crazy.

They held "Pontoon Races" in Lake Havasu every year back in the 1980's. There was an unlimited class and some of those pontoons were using Nitros. They'd reach speeds near 80mph.

The marine shops in the Colorado River area used this competition to see who was "King of the Hill". Often this contest pitted Holiday RV and Marine of Bullhead City against C & W Marine of Havasu for the final "Showdown".

They were wild. ;)

We actually thought of that!! I have a small 8 foot Jon Boat that we thought about putting it under my pontoon and then using it to retrieve the downed ducks!
