Talkin Trash Cat ?
While in St. Clair last weekend at the OPA race I found myself wondering why the Talkin Trash boat sounded so drastically different than the other cats?
My guess was exhaust since I'm assuming the engines are standard Mercury class engines......can anyone tell me. |
Its the sterlings and the exhaust mike uses, they are speced supercat engines but I believe D'anabelle uses some custom form of scavanging exhaust. I think they also have a single outlet per engine like a six incher or something.

they are 510 ci/750hp supercat motors that spin over 7500rpm's into a y pipe, they do sound mean

Y-pipes were very popular in race boats in the late 80's, early 90's.
Best sound ever in Allez Vite with Merc 1000's, but only 5,800 rpm's. www.YouTube.com/watch?v=Twfb337f4DI |

Agreed, one of the very few or only? Apaches with y-Pipes. Made it sound more like a Lamborghini.
