Hi RG!

F1-00 Racing 08-08-2011 09:08 AM

Congrats Dee!!!!

But what most dont know is the fact that she raced a 29' Fountain with a single 500 EFI. Ok so those boats are on the course all the time, heres the kicker, against a 382 Formula with twin 525's, 34 Phantom w/ twin 500's, 33 Scarab w/ twin 650's(at least) and a Super Vee Lite.... Then you add to the whole thing that the boat wasnt even ready until 10 am race morning..

She held her own got up there in the start with us and then paced herself throughout the race and raced smart. I must say she was as cool as the flip side of a cucumber. All of us on the team are so proud of her and yes, I am looking over my shoulder as I firmly believe that you have to have the best people in the boats, my job might be in jeopardy pretty quick:eek:

Thank you Dee for everything you do for our team and I hope you know, TnT would not be where we are today without you!!

Trent

Panther 08-08-2011 09:24 AM

Good deal Trent!

How about the part where she drove the boat with manual steering! Way to overcome adversity Dee!

What was the final placing?

rchevelle71 08-08-2011 09:40 AM

Congrats Doreen!!!

Lucididee 08-08-2011 09:49 AM

Thank you all! It was a great experience. Now not to say this is gonna make me a full time racer but I most definitely want to be out there and do it again. I think I got 2-3 races in me per season.

Thank you so much Trent for giving me the oportunity in Port Huron and Thank you to Tyler for a little seat time in St Clair and the helmet on race day. I also need to Thank Roxy for donning my camera and getting. And a big thanks too to Rob, from the Whoz Your Daddy team for throttling for me

I placed fifth Class 400. Here's a pic Roxy took, look for the little person with the green mohawk, that's me.
I think I did damn good running with not having power steering

Panther 08-08-2011 11:03 AM

Good deal, congrats again!

I like the mohawk!

bluellama 08-08-2011 11:50 AM

Great work Dee.
Very cool.

Racegirl3 08-08-2011 05:50 PM

I remember what its like to race with no power steering. Did that in a bat boat in Ocean City. Not as much fun as it could have been but still great to be out there racing. Congrats again! So glad Trent gave you the opportunity

Dee didn't back down when things got dicey on the race course. This could be the beginning of a new career for her.

Congrats Dee. You gave the boyz something to think about besides beer:)

Now the Long Island race is really following Betty's footsteps.

HORBA will give you all the help you need, charts, experienced racers that you can tap their brains, bragging rights that you can hold over Frank....LOL!!!

September 24th for the 2nd annual Don Aronow Memorial Around Long Island race....only 271 miles. Refueling permitted.

Wow! I am so very honored. If I could only do 1/2 of what Betty accomplished.

Wait a second here... We were just talking about expanding to a 4 boat race team and the Apache is on that list. :party-smiley-004:

If you can get someone to pay for new set of engines, new drives, gimbals etc. and I may just consider that offer! :evilb:
