Read that in 2005 Westport did not install sprinkler systems as standard build.

Most large yachts do not have built in sprinkler systems. They do in the engine room. They also have built in fire alarms all around the boat that will wake everyone. however, for the rest of the boat, there are fire pumps and hoses located all around the boat, along with fire fighting suits and tanks. When I used to work on yachts, we all had fire training, but they said in most cases unless you catch the fire right as it starts, pretty much get the hell off the boat and call the fire department. That is what insurance is for!
