Power Boat fuel taxes spent on Sailboat marina
Marine fuel taxes through U.S. fish and game are used to fund the Clean Vessel Act Grant. This grant was awarded to a sailboat club (ACSA) to construct a marina facility on a public lake with the terms that it be open to all Boats. ($43,500.00)
The sail boat club has denied access to all power boats and fisher men since its construction in 2004. We have started a petition to right this wrong. Please sign the petition below and share the information with your boating friends.

Typical abuse of our tax dollars.... Sad thing is it's just a drop in the bucket. Guess I will start idling through there once or twice whenever I'm at Alum. I hear they really enjoy open exhaust over there

It appears the grant was to fund a dump station within a privately funded marina based on this comment attached to one of the signatures.
"Please note that Dave Chapman, who refers to this marina as being 'segregated', is the individual whose name is on the lease with ODNR for this facility to be operated as a sailboat only facility. Aside from a small CVA grant to provide dump station capability, the rest of the facility (docks, restroom, picnic shelter) are all 100% privately funded. This facility is being operated under a contract between the Sailing Assoc. and ODNR, with no contractual requirement to provide a courtesy dock."
I wonder if this is an attempt to circumvent the lease and generate more revenue for the facility.
