Default Cig' Top Gun "Double Diamond" SANK??

Does anyone know the story on the Top Gun "Double Diamond"? Heard that it sank.
Saw it back on shore after it was brought back in and it still looks Gorgeous-

Reportedly sank.... heard bits and pieces of a story but I am not sure how much was fact and how much was dockside fiction.

Hopefully all is good.......
