Tyson vs Lewis

Its Saturday night. Anybody care?

jbrauer 06-07-2002 01:56 PM

NO!

I'm sick of seeing a scumbag like Tyson get second, third, fourth chances in boxing and the sports world itself. I'm not a big boxing fan, but do try to watch the big money fights. I hope like hell that Lewis duces him quick so he fades into oblivion!! Unfortunatley, I'm not holding my breath on it happening that way. :(

Damn... after reading that I guess I do care! :p :o

Allan4 06-07-2002 02:09 PM

Hey Cat, here's an idea, hold a grudge that effects you in no way for 30 years.....

I like boxing, infact I like it quite a bit, because it is violent mano-e-mano. Hand to hand combat, just like since the begining of man kind. Survival of the fittest.......with no government cheese or manatee humpers. Before you know, the democrats will have all our kids going to school in body condoms.....

Lewis in 4. He's too big, too strong and too durable. A win Sat night will mark his name in history. I will give you this though, boxing is almost as bad as wrestling from a reality standpoint. Later

Tbonepmp 06-07-2002 02:09 PM

TYSON IS GONNA KICK HIS AZZ!!!!!!!

Listen to you guys, ya sound like a bunch of little girls....
("It's a brutal sport with no redeeming features")?????????????
Whatever Trevor!!!!!!!!!!!

LET'S GET IT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 :D :p

Risk Taker 06-07-2002 02:14 PM

I tempted to get the pay-per-view ($59.99) just to see what body part gets bitten of this time.......:D :D

Lewis in 7, then it's bye-bye Mikey !!!

seanclong 06-07-2002 02:19 PM

Why bother? Boxing is more boring, corrupt and pointless than even Pro Wrestling.

Two dim-witted idiots beating the hell out of each other. Big deal. I can see that for free at my local country-western bar on any given Saturday...

I'm not a country fan in any way, shape or form, but do I detect a bit of country-western envy?:D :D :D :D :D :D

seanclong 06-07-2002 02:28 PM

You can detect it any way you like. But know this: In order for me to have made that statement I would have had to frequent such a place...:p

jbrauer 06-07-2002 02:30 PM

Badda-bing!!:) :)

eyezlee 06-07-2002 02:32 PM

Hey allan4 change your little signature thingey cause its June and the dance is over and cincy sux. :D

back to boxing, I used to like tyson, then he turned in a piece of ****. I agree with jbrauer, too many second chances for mike.

seanclong 06-07-2002 02:34 PM

Okay, Okay. I admit it. I like country music. Is that the first step to recovery?:D :D :D LOL!!!!

blackhawk 06-07-2002 02:35 PM

I USED to love boxing. But the sport is definitely corrupt. Especially the heavyweight class, which is where the money is! Mr. Don King has definitely had a big part in ruining it. I don't watch boxing near as much as I used to just because it is too damn corrupt and money hungry. Want to see some good boxing? Check out a couple of no-name middleweights with damn good records trying to make a name for themselves. I followed Roy Jones Jr. for quite some time but he started getting boring after awhile.

As far as Tyson goes, I hope Lewis hits him so hard that his head literally comes off his shoulders and hits Don King in the side of the head and they are both lying there dead.

Whoa, ot a little carried away! :D

Wally 06-07-2002 02:37 PM

Too much politics involved with Tyson. How does a con get out of jail and go straight to a title bout??? Its not supposed to happen! But flash enough cash and things will get done. been proven time and time again throughout history......sad isint it? BUt hey as long at its a good fight and they beat the snot out of each other then bring it on!!!!.........(I wont be paying to watch it though!) heheh :D

jbrauer 06-07-2002 02:41 PM

Hey Sean, just giving ya' a hard time to liven up the Friday discussions. When you live in Nashville, TN (like me) everyone just assumes you're a country fan.

Allan4 06-07-2002 02:49 PM

eyezlee, hahahahaaa......good idea, but for someone from "Broken Arrow-Me Sit On Porch And Watch Dogs Hump and Buffalo Graze While Wife, Shooting Limb, Cook Rabbit" OK, well, I think you need to double think your situation.....unless of course you are an OSU fan.......:D

jawbreakerkid 06-07-2002 02:51 PM

we all know that boxing is probably the most corrupt professional sport there is, we all know how much of a nut case Tyson is, we all know don king carries enough weight to do whatever he wants, but all of that is beside the point. we are talking about LEWIS vs. TYSON!!!!!!!!

Lewis will have to come out and take an aggressive approach with tyson, which he is not known for doing. if he doesn't rattle tyson in the first two rounds, the ball is in tyson's court. face it, tyson throws a stronger and quicker punch than lewis. not to mention he has a jaw that will withstand some hard strikes. lewis has the advantage with his reach. he is much taller, which has always posed a problem with tyson. tyson does not feel that comfortable against taller opponents. if lewis can keep tyson at a distance and not allow him to throw his power punches from the inside, the fight could be a toss-up. lewis must force tyson to play his game, not the other way around. we all know that tyson is not going for a decision in this one.....he wants a knock out! i pick tyson in round three w/ a KO. there you have it.....

No problem!!!! :D Things were getting a little dull!!! Have a great weekend!!!

cigarette1 06-07-2002 03:10 PM

If Tyson doesn't have control of the fight by the 4th round .... I wouldn't be suprised to see something as crazy as a choke hold .... or, straight pounding to the nads .... at the very minimum, a broken arm.

Tyson is frickin' nuts ... expect the worst

WHAT? Double think my situation? You must've had your head up Bob Huggins' ass too long. :D For if you had a map and knew how to read it, you'd see that B.A. is a suburb of Tulsa. You know Tulsa, the team that took your Bearcats out the last time you thought you were going to win it. What was that guy's name? Kenyon Martin?

No OSU here unless you mean Ohio State for taking that dumbass John Cooper out of here. NOPE, I'm on OU football fan. We're preseason number 1!

Oh yeah, keep thinking Oklahoma is full of cowboys and indians.  :p ;) :D

That's exactly what we were just talking about in the office. I can see Tyson going below decks, knocking Lewis to the ground then jumping on him WWF style, biting his nipples off.

LEWIS....In a decision...This is a no-brainer...Lewis is planning on taking the fight by points..If he sees that Tyson is in trouble then he will go in for the kill..But we all know that Tyson has no game past the 4th...it's just not there. And Lewis is well aware of a knock out punch..Look for Lewis to frustrate Tyson all night with his jab...then take it in a decision with the punch stats lopsided towards Lewis....But who knows...?...I thought Crazy Cabbie would destroy Stu...Stu...Studdering John....Thank you ...Thank you very much...

cuda 06-07-2002 04:51 PM

I think Tyson has no heart, and if he is losing, he will try to get dq's by doing something insane.

As for the fight, Tyson has a puncher's chance, if he can catch Lewis with a big shot early, Lewis may go down and not get back up. Lewis has a suspect chin (see Rachman and Holyfield). If the fight gets past the fifth round without Tyson catching Lewis, then the odds go heavily in Lewis's favor. Tyson has never been known for his endurance. I see Lewsi winning some way or another, either KO, decision, or Tyson dq'd.

As for boxing itself it is the purest of all sports inside the ring. You don't need to know the rules or how to score to know who is winning. Yes it is brutal, and if that offends your sensibilities, just don't watch it. These guys that are getting in the ring know they aren't there to do a ballet dance. It's not as if they are being thrown in the ring ala some gladiator bout.

If you want to see a boxer with heart, get out some old Ali fights and watch them. I never really liked him, but you have to give him credit, he was the most skilled heavy of all time, and had the heart of a lion! Ken Norton broke Ali's jaw in the second round, and Ali went the distance! Yes, he lost the fight, but there damn sure wasn't any quit in him.

I just hope we don't have to see another beach ball growing out of one of their heads like Rachman last week, that was sick!

BTW, I will be watching it.

INCOGNITO 06-07-2002 07:59 PM

TYSON-LEWIS

I THINK IF LEWIS BOXES MIKE TYSON KEEPS HIM AWAY AND FRUSTRATED HE WILL PROBABLY WIN --IF HE COMES OUT WANTING TO BRAWL WITH TYSON HE WILL LOOSE..TYSON KNOWS THAT THIS IS HIS LAST CHANCE AT REDEMPTION(IF YOU COULD CALL IT THAT)SO I LOOK FOWARD TO SEEING WHAT WILL HAPPEN...HELL PAY ME WHAT THEYRE MAKING AND ILL JUMP IN THERE WITH ANYBODY-YOU REALLY CANT LOOSE..YOURE STILL MAKING MILLIONS IF YOU DO....LOOSE.:D

FunHome 06-07-2002 08:30 PM

Tyson is a No Good SOB!! and he should not be allowed to fight!! There is too much glory in it for him. I vowed to never pay to watch him or such a person fight ever again!!

So, I hope Lewis hit's him so hard......that he ****'s himself and he fall's into it in one big DEAD lump!!

Hear I am, still at work after 14 hours today and I'll have to be back again tomorrow morning bright and early, and all this piece if $hit has to do is step into the ring and he'll get enough money to buy all the toy's I would ever want in life!!

DJD 06-07-2002 09:03 PM

As far as Tyson goes, I hope Lewis hits him so hard that his head literally comes off his shoulders and hits Don King in the side of the head and they are both lying there dead.

ROLMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't agree more!
Tyson is the biggest piece of chit I have ever seen. Ya think he was the "woman" in jail? I unfortunately can picture him now. Weeeeeeeeeee Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee Weeeeeeeeee! LMAO
Yeikes!

Steve_H 06-07-2002 09:18 PM

i hate to say it but tyson will win.
why?
because the don kings of boxing will make more money in rematches if he does.
and fans love contriversy(sp).
we should all be glad they let him box.if it wasnt for boxing he would be robbing and killing people.POS

as for ali , he was the best "in my lifetime".yaa , he had a mouth on him but it was all part of his act.he was an entertainer and entertain he did.he also stuck to his beliefs inspite of it not being popular.gotta hand it to him.

Tbonepmp 06-08-2002 01:06 AM

THANK-YOU TOO OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!

I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!!!!!!!!!!

blackhawk 06-08-2002 11:21 AM

Boxing does need it's villians. But boxing does not need circus freaks. You cannot compare Ali to Tyson. Ali ran his mouth and it was part of his act. It was done with a hint of sarcasm and everyone knew it. Ali kept it interesting and then you watched because he was a great fighter. Tyson runs his mouth and then you watch because you want to see if he is going to freak out. He does not have th skills. He has a wicked punch, that's it.

My prediction. Lewis will come out aggressive but keep mike away. As long as he is not TOO aggressive and keeps his cool Tyson will get frutrated and do something stupid.

Lewis will win by DQ in the 5th. I just hope he keeps all of his body parts!

:D

Uncle Toys 06-08-2002 12:26 PM

Not interested! Tyson is an ass! Cig1 said it best, expect the worst.

If you want to see real fighting, check out one of the Ultimate Fight Championship videos. Otherwise, watch WWF – at least you get to see chicks.

1Boatnut 06-08-2002 10:21 PM

I just hope Tyson's manager lets him eat before the fight. This way he shouldn't have to take a chomp outa Lewis:D

Lewis is gonna do it

russ7r 06-08-2002 11:57 PM

Anyone else watching this fight now....god it sucks. Mike is getting is ass beat.
