I have Gil tips on my boat. 454 Mag and they are throaty enough to know its a big block and quiet enough to have normal conversations. No idea on power loss cause they were on the boat when I bought it. The tips have two little baffles that look like fan blades inside when you look in them.

thankfully enough my wife is smart enough not to complain about things like this, otherwise she knows it would be deal with it or dont ride. But I guess some guys have a bigger heart or a tigher leash than I do.
