Im used to it, ready to go bigger syndrome?
 

Im taking a survey, Im wondering if others are like me in powerboating or am I just a freak? I started boating on my dads 19" tri-hull deck boat then bought my first boat a 89 Baja force 23.5. I sold the baja about 7yrs ago and just purchased a 29' twin-engine powerquest not even a year ago, it was a monster at first but now im used to the size and ready to go bigger. Am I the only one this happens too?? For once I will agree with the wife, maybe I won't ever be happy. We were at the lake last weekend and we were tied off next to a 38' nor-tec and my 29' didn't look like a monster no more!! Im a pq fan and have been looking at the 38 avengers for sale??

I don’t know how you guys do it to be honest. It’s just to much IMHO. You want to go fast get a 15’ Baja and slap a 150 on it. That will scare the piss out of ya. Need a couple staterooms to live aboard your boat (why you would want to I don’t know), get a cabin cruiser but to have it all in one to me is like having 200mph conversion van. Cool, but not for me.
Boats are like cars. You get in them to go somewhere even if it is nowhere and then come back. I’m not sure why some boaters need a full kitchen and couple staterooms in their boat just to have it sit at a marina 99% of the time and no matter what I’ll sleep in my own bed, in my house.
Another thing to consider is “gallons per mile.” I’ll have just as much fun in my 19 as most will in their 48’ boat and my gas bill will be a fraction of theirs and I’ll will be able to go out again next weekend.
I have the original 1968 Nova 24 race boat that any boat named Nova (except for the rubber dinghy out today) came from. Top of the line in 1968 and not a bad boat today. There’s a Cat just a few doors down from the community boat ramp with 3 blown 502’s in it and the few times the motors start and it leaves the pier each year the men of the neighborhood run to the ramp like kids running after the ice cream truck. Except for me. I already know it will blow the gunnels off my old 24 but I’ve learned a long time ago that no matter what you have there is always someone with something better. I guess that’s why I like unique boats. You don’t have to have the biggest, baddest, most expensive boat on the water. I live by the line, It's not about being noticed, it's about being remembered.

Last, the bigger you go the less you feel. I boat because I like to drive the water conditions. A big boat looses that feeling (unless you are doing over 100 then it comes back). Enjoy what you got.

I've had my 25' Baja for about 3 summers now and all i can think about is getting into a 35' boat. I've been looking at cafe racers even though i'm pretty sure it's not necessary I really want one. I'm sure i'll always want something bigger and faster, seems like it's just the way it goes.

LOL. My 24 hour day. Work= 3-4 hours, E-mail, Web. etc. =1hour, Misc. forums review, =1 hour, In the bilge of the Avanti. =2-3 hours. Infinity bilge= 1 hour. In the garage looking for a part or nuts and bolts I know I have but can't find, = 3 hours. Going to Home Depot or Ace to get that bolt, =1 hour. Sleep, = 6 hours, Waking up at 4AM, checking in every classified on the planet= 3hours. Tussing and turning after seeing some thing I like = 2 hours. Walking dog =.5 hours. Beer run, = .5 hours. Misc. house/yard work= 1 hour.
Living in a 24 hour day doing 25 hours of stuff = amazing.
Being a boater/owner ====== priceless and ???? :eek:

But would'nt be with out one.
