dont complain about lack of entrants when the price tag for entry is a g-note. not to sound like a smart ass but what makes this run so special that it costs so much? what else do you get for entry? i would hope food at least?

There you have it!!! When you are asked why you didn't race in this legend of races, you can tell them it was the money for the entry fee.

As a matter of fact, part of the entry fee pays for the satellite tracking system that goes on each boat, so the less than hearty can sit at home with their keyboard and watch the others race live.

Last year when the British boat broke down, they had within minutes, 17 texts from all over Europe, from friends that were watching the satellite feed....it works.

The entry fee for the old Miami to Nassau to Miami was $10,000......and they didn't even get any food for that, imagine!!

its not a race for the average boater. it takes a player to go around.

not many willing to man up. the pricetag is secondary. weeds out the weak.

the biggest issue is bringing a boat that will go around.

one only has to look at the past winners and know they are players.

really im wondering how much you would have to charge to run the race?

sorry, if your looking for a free lunch, look someplace else.

Ignor him Charlie, after all this is considered a race and I bet you it costs more to enter a SBI race. Good seeing you today.

not all of us live off our parents for a hobby much like yourself

nor are we sponsored by companies like many others...people should stop complaining about the number of entrants if you dont want to hear potential solutions. goes both ways. just playing devils advocate. sometimes the truth hurts. some potential solutions to entice more people would be: food, shirts, dvd's, etc...imagine that. i get such wise @ss responses for asking a simple question like whats included? sorry didnt know that wasnt allowed.

i have learned my lesson already in participating in a NPBA event. thanks though.

and dont take my comments personally. no one here should. but i hate the whining about the number of participants when there are ways to help it yet it always falls on deaf ears.
