Yep.
My day is shot after seeing this This kind of run right here is what put "Offshore Racing" on the map! No stinkin, in shore (on a river) 6 mile laps!
Anyone getting the video feed to work??
Mcgary911, I was trying to find that info to calculate and could not.
On my end it is showing gps coordinates have not updated in over an hour?? Was updating every 10 - 11 mins.
If they want to break this record I'd think they'd need to make hay while they can. Course that depends on how they have fuel consumption figured.

looks like they have fairly calm seas. 10knot wind spd, 2 ft wave hieghts and swells of .6' from the closest report to them.

Twin OB sonic. I got the distance from here:
http://www.movable-type.co.uk/scripts/latlong.html
It's in the UK, so returns Kilos, but that's easy enough to convert.
So far I have their current average time at 39.02mph
Not too sure how well this will paste:
Starting point LAT LON Time Current point LAT LON Time Elapsed Time ET (minutes) Distance (mi) Avg Speed (mph)
27 40.37473 -73.77845 10:11:00 AM 36 39.75211 -73.02579 11:40 AM 1:30 90.00 58.607 39.07

Pasted almost as badly as I thought it would

Also, kinda curious about the game plan, if there is one, for running after dark. (take it as it comes?) The mental stress surely will go up once the sun goes down.

Thanks, I was wondering about that. Hope the conditions hold steady for them, but that is a lot of open ocean to cover.

I wish you were able to photograph and video them on this adventure !

I ran in the dark before, not 700+- miles lol, but where I could not see the shore or any shoreline, buildings, lights, etc. It is not as dark as you think, once you get to an "open" water with no "shore" reflection. Shorelines actually make it seem darker. (and just for the record, once I lose site of any land, I'm ready to pi$$ my shorts, night or day no matter. It's a scary feeling, but I do it once in a while for the hell of it. A few weeks ago I had to follow a casino boat back home.) I'm not worried about the night run, but I am courious about the fuel issue. Any refueling, or alike planned?

Looks good! Go Chris Fertig & Crew
Chris appears to be in good company for this record! I was hesitant in writing the Insurance Exposure during the run, but after considering the factors, especially weather, I was confident and expect a safe & hopefully a new record.
Regards to Todd & Big John from back in our days of racing, and of course Chris Fertig!
