Taking a long time to post hope nobody is trying to cheat. Would not be good for the sport. I heard 90seconds they beat the record by?

yea...i watched a majority of the race on kattack. i would venture that the winners came in around 3 hrs 45 mins. this is going off:

1. kattack speeds
2. OSO post times

I talked to Joe Sgro and he said they were running around 100mph across the sound and around 80 in the ocean. He had it running 110 through Manhattan with no gas stops. They had a fuel bladder added to make it without a stop.

hopefully im eating my words and he did set the new record!!!! i just did a replay and must admit it now looks close. although in the replay it shows him running in the 70's along the south shore.

i must admit, the real time feed is not accurate at all as it showed him running 50's-60's the whole way in the ocean. running the replay it looked like it started about 9:35am and ended 12:45ish. hard to tell the exact start and stop.

another factor is the advertised distance. if truly 271 miles that would require an average of roughly 91 mph. watching it real time didnt give me the sensatioon that he was even close to that pace.

In any event...CONGRATULATIONS JOE, OL, and ILMOR. New record holders for both vee bottom and catamaran 2011!!!!!

From what I saw on Kattack tracking showed them at the beginning running about 85 across the sound, after rounding Montauk they came off plain and looked like they were waiting for the 42 outerlimits. Once the 42 caught up they went off together then the 43 was maintaining about 65 in the ocean. Through Manhattan they were about 80 with a few times hitting 85. Once out of Manhattan not sure about speeds because tracking kept crashing. They would had to finish just after 12pm to win, but they crossed the finish at around 12:45pm. Congrats to all that participated and the 43 Outerlimits crew on winning
