I had State Farm a number of years ago and they got me for an outdrive.:mad: They said it was metal fatigue in one of the gears because you could see a dirty mark of an existing crack where it cut loose. My contention was , it could have been that way for years and could have gone for even more years if I hadn't hit something (and bent the prop).When talking to them , they admitted they didn't understand boats and could only go by what the surveyor said.:( After talking to the surveyor ,which almost came to blows, he claimed "I only call it as I see it". Told him to get his eyes examined , get a new job , and to do something to himself that was physically impossible (if you know what i mean :rolleyes: .I then changed companies . Good Luck
