Does it exist?
I was wondering if there are any outboard open-bow/bowrider performance boats in the 23-30ft range. I want a bit of speed, performance, ability to dip into the Atlantic for a run here and there, and something I could ski off of. I figure an open config in the bow would be more useful. Would prefer an outboard as I'm tired of dealing with my I/O Donzi.
Thanks for any suggestions |

Don't know what kind of trouble you have with your Donzi I/O (OMC?), but you might want to look into the Formula line. Saw a 240 BR in the factory showroom a few years ago and ended up with this 260 SS to play with out on Lake Mead:

Once you have a center console you'll never want anything else http://www.donzimarine.com/Boats/ZF_29_o.html |
We just built our first 33 Active Thunder with outboards, and we are very pleased with the results--as is the new owner. We could built that boat as a mid-cabin open-bow.
You might also look into the performance center consoles. |
I sell Checkmates. They have a 24BRX with a ton of room. Seats 10 easily and runs 70-72 with a 300xs. 4-5 mpg. I have one in stock. Click here: http://liberatorfl.tripod.com/id15.html
It's the last boat down. Black and blue on white. I'm in Port Orange, just south of Daytona Beach. Thanx, WILDMAN http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/SAM_0037.jpg I also have a new 2012 28 OBX with twins. More pics of the 28 here: http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o40299-en.html http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...n/101_0067.jpg |
Thanks for the info- never looked into Checkmate - exactly what I was thinking after looking at their website. I know there are quite a few options as far as performance center consoles out there. Maybe a Concept would work. My father-in-law has a SeaVee 340 that he lets me use, and I can borrow my parents Edgewater CC in the Keys when I drive down there. Another CC might be redundant. A fast boat that my family can cruise and lounge in at a sandbar without using the gas that the Seavee uses might work better for me.
Again thanks for the help |
Oh and that 24BRX is really tempting Wildman. Blue looks real nice.
