Son of Sonic

After what happened to the last Sonic 33, I didn't want to say anything about this one until it was delivered. It arrived at my house today safe and sound if a little dirty. 1985 Sonic 33RS:

Twin 540 CI, Engines are Dart blocks with Dart Pro 1 heads, eagle crankshaft and rods, roller cams, stud girdles, low hours, brand new IMCO full hydraulic steer, TRS drives left and right, drive showers, 26 pitch 4 blade props, K-plane tabs, radar arch with spot light, velvet drive transmissions with added clutches, nice cabin - cooler and enclosed head for porta-potty, drives need paint but mechanically sound.

Sold a long time ago, we are talking around 2003-2004 time frame, belonged to Julie and Matt from Throttle up.

Insurance is settled to me. They will probably go after the broker's insurance but that is between insurance companies.

Question--where do you run a boat that big in Colorado ?

I took a job in Denver and I did not see any lakes that could handle my boat.

Smitty

Smitty-gotta travel. Everything is a long way off in the west :)

Smitty 10-07-2011 03:57 PM

Gotcha-- that's what I figured. There really are no lakes near Denver, they are all resevoirs !!! I ended up finding a job back in Illinois, but my time in Denver was cool and I wish I was still out there.

Very nice old classic. Was never an arch fan though ;)

I love the arches. We did the first one in '83. A guy in the same indst. park as Sonic at the time on Oakland Park blvd named "Panther Tanks" built it out of aluminum. When it was finished we went down in my '79 Ford Ranchero and picked it up with two guys in the bed to hold it down. We eased back to the shop at 10 mph.
