Liberty Out at American Marine Holdings
This just in, http://speedonthewater.com/in-the-ne...-holdings.html.
I will continue to follow this story as it unfolds. |
FCC Boca Raton. Hmm, I gotta make a few calls.
|
As The Prop Turns......
|
I spoke with two higher-ups at American Marine Holdings today. (Actually, one returned my call when I was on the line so it went to voice mail.) The release was fresh news to the first gentleman I spoke with. As for the second, he said "What you see is what I know." So clearly, this all happened pretty fast.
That said, it is not at all unusual for top management to be unaware of what the owners, whether private individuals or investment groups, of their companies are doing or planning. I covered lots of business stories over the years and this situation is nothing new. So nothing new to report. Have a great and safe weekend on the water. |
I was planning on sending my Donzi ZRC to the Fountain/Donzi facotry for a refurb - is that a bad idea considering this new development?
|
We can take care of your donzi at RF Marine.
|
I think I would be very careful with the state of the company right now to see how things are going to pan out
|
wow ! is this for the better or worst ?

Like the last depression, this one is continuing to destroy boating and other recreational enterprises, for obvious reasons. Unfortunately, this depression is worse than the "great depression" because we can't use a war to get us out: wars helped us get into this one.
Even during WW2, WW1 was called "the great war." Now, its just WWI. Soon, we will call this depression WWD2 (world wide depression 2). I am not at all surprised that people who try a business strategy that was very risky in good times (highly leveraged, high debt load, in a limited growth mature industry) fail today. If you don't have your own capital, you really can't be a capitalist. |
