Just when your having a bad day... Then you read a Gino story. The picture of the pool pump is a classic. Thx for sharing.

Default My Minor Mishap

I only got stuck in my own elevator, which is only a short story compared to a typical GINO day.

Gino,

Those pumps are supposed to save you money on electricity since they are variable speed. Even at 1K each (cost) they will save you $400+ a year in power. BTW all that pool equipment was junk, old Hayward stuff (cheapest stuff in industry, builders use it all the time). That filter was a C-1100 and has been out of production 15+ years. Most of them cracked when we got a cold snap, they split the seam on the side.

If you are fixing/repairing that pool equipment again be sure to plumb a manifold and pressure test it. It will be priceless to find a leak/cracked fitting BEFORE you put everything back together. The manifold will be $10 in fittings (that get scrapped) but the pressure gauge proving the plumbing isn't leaking is priceless!
