need 700-800hp ls engines for Skater project

I'm doing a Skater build and would like to have an aluminum ls supercharged, intercooled, closed cooled reliable engine for less than $20,000 complete. Ive seen the ls thread here and see several offered for under 20k. Is one any better than the other

I was talking $20,000/ each for motor only, and so far I have in fact found 2 sources for these engines. sounds like there are several people who dont feel these engines are available in this price range.

glassdave 10-12-2011 04:26 PM

uhh . . . . . yea . . . . thats why were skeptical :D

You mean boat motors are different than car motors?

I got a buddy who has a cousin with a Cigar boat, he put twin Chevelle SS396 motors in it. Ran over 100 MPH.

glassdave 10-12-2011 05:02 PM

ok i have to ask the same question i'm sure everyone has been wanting to ask . . . missy are you a guy or a girl? just curious cuz of the screen name . . . . not that it matters :D

POWERPLAY J 10-12-2011 05:35 PM

Can't choose between a Glastron or a Skater. Chicks are indecisive. Could go either way I guess... :evilb:

??? How long you've been boating? If you want to build and run a Skater, and can afford to do so. Why not just call Eddie Young, TCM, Potter or one of the other good builders out there? The way you are asking, makes it look like you're not serious, or got no clue about what you are doing. Give people some of your boating background if possible. A skater is not exactly a starter boat, and a different animal than the Glastron, to say the least.

Sheer Insanity 10-12-2011 06:54 PM

I have a pair of 800 horse power outboards for sale. Lighter and turn higher revs, good for 40 miles per hour over a inboard /outboard. On has a scratch on the motor cover though... Burns half the fuel TOO!

Tiki Joe 10-12-2011 09:06 PM
