I have a stock 26. I put a borrowed shorty on the boat. I first tried a the 26. I could turn it 5200-5300 rpm.It was like spining tries. Boat only ran 60.The 28 has a supper cruise in the mid range. Just need a fer more rpms.
Also both props measure 15" in Dia.

Yep. Why merc stamps them 15.25" beats me. Maybe Bblades can tell us this. As mentioned ealier, it's only the 32 and 34 that measures 15.25"
