I agree, they're all awesome boats, just depends on which one you personally like best, and how much money you have.

I would say start with Mystic big shooter and work your way down from there. If your looking for cheaper there are other makes such as Skaters, Mti, Outerlimits, Nortechs actually Statement looks to have nice fit and finish. Good luck on your search!! It is a buyers market
for prices I think it depends on what its rigged with, Mystics are fast on flat water, but on rough waters they have had some issues.theres so may skaters out there that have held up, plus they made some 36, 40, 46 with cabins.I loved going in big water in Knot Rights 46 turbine boat, going to block island was a blast in 5 to 7 foot sea's. or going over big sportfish or cruiser wakes doing 100 to 120. you just float across them it seems. it feels funny driving in any vee after being in a 46 skater. chit even the 24s give a better ride then any 24 ,25 foot vee that I've been in. the 24s kill 2 to 3 footers at 90 to 100. but wouldn't do the sf or cruiser wakes fast than 40 or 50 we got lots of air doing that but landed soft. I liked the spectra 30s too. nice ride. the OL cats are nice looking boats sat in one, but haven't had a ride in one. if you look at a OL vee its nice boat closest too a cat for speed and comfort to me anyways. ps where testing the saber 28 that we built and Gerry's wife told my wife wait til you have a ride in the skater you'll want one. so my wife looks at gee why didn't get one of those!! I said well honey you'd have to get a BIG raise 1st. good luck theres a lot of nice cats= brands out there. Art

Brent, being that you live in Port Carling, I would get in touch with Peter at Double R, he can help coach / inform you accordingly.

I think you would be better served by buying a 40'+ V bottom to begin with. The first STATEMENT V is for sale in the classifieds. You wife will love that boat because it has an air suspension cockpit which softens the ride up to catamaran standards. Run it for a couple of years then you can move up to a cat.
