It seems like there are no helo videos of modern racing, yet there are numerous videos from back in the day. I would love to see some of the same type of video of modern racing. Maybe that would change my mind.

For now, I'll stick with the old stuff.

The helo's can't keep up with us

Looking at the course layout it still looked like a oval course. just 17 miles long, and I did have to turn off the volume, as the announcers were making me want to stick pencils through my eardrums. rather hear the motors.

Personally I like the oval track racing we do, but I like it in the ocean. Flying and jumping is flying and jumping, its only better when you and another are fighting tooth and nail to get to turn one

Still not roundy round
more like "Out and around and back"

and even nascar has motors in the backround and some comentator talking

TV coverage would helpa with somone explaining what is going on Otherwise it is still as confusing to the masses as going to see it in person

I said it before When i stood next to a major performance boat company owner at a race and he could not tell who was in what place and had to ask me It was painfully obvious how difficult this sport is to understand

I was checking out some old posts on SOTW but didn't catch why it's no longer an event.

A few years back a couple people lost their lives when an OL spun out early in the event.

As one of the two guys who put on SOTW there were many reasons for the end of our event but mostly because we were included in a lawsuit for millions when there was an accident at our event and the greedy familys and dirt bag lawyers decended upon us and many others to become weathy on the demise of two individuals that participated and died in a boat accident at SOTW

That coupled with things changing in the economy it was no longer prudent to continue on
