This boat has the pre alpha drives. One of the lowers was changed to a gen 1 lower at some point. The other original one has pretty bad corrosion from where a nose cone was put on then improperly painted so I want to change that lower.

Is there any advantage in changing the uppers to gen 1 alphas?

Also they are both standard rotation. Should I switch to counter?

Very cool boat! I like the low-profile California style hull and the curves are awesome. Post some interior pics if you have them.

wow looks far newer than '78.......as far as changing rotation my beek came with both standard rotation.....I changed to one counter.....speed was the same but drives much straighter at idle speeds......much easier to get/try sets of props as they always come in a left and a right......D

I had a Carlson SSV151 with a Merc Black Max 150. LOT of motor for a 15.5 foot boat! Man I was crazy back then!!
