Galveston Bay Power Squadron will be hosting a Hurricane Preparation
Seminar especially geared for boaters and coastal residents in the
Clear Lake/Galveston Area. Speakers will be from FEMA, NOAA and
local Fire and Police Depts and a Marina Dockmaster. Toipics covered
will be:

1.Proper way to secure sail and power boats using storm lines and
cchafing gear.

2. Evacuation routes away from Clear Lake.

3. What to do with pets.

4. What not to leave on the boat.

5. How to re-enter the area.

6. Important items regarding filing an insurance claim.

7. Documenting your losses.

8. The 15-Minute Rule.

9. Why a current USCG/USPS Vessel Safety Check is important.
