Default 700 Top End rebuild questions

Looking for some true experiance with what I should/need to do with my 700's. I just found out that I have to do the top ends on my motors cause I have 220 hrs. Being told that there is a must 250 top end per mercury. Any thoughts/experiance/help... thanks

There is no rebuild or top end refresh schedule from Merc for the 700sci that I am aware of.
If leak down tests are good, then I'd probably just do valve springs to be on the safe side.

I think the most important is replacing the roller lifters, rocker arms are usualy okay, valves touched up depending on condition to replace or not, valve springs and head gaskets.IMO But I thought you could go 400 hrs depending how hard your on it.

We just upgraded a set with new Cometic head gaskets, upgraded springs and Crowler rocker arms. Found several weak springs and bad rocker arms. 200hrs on motors.

525's need springs and rockers (maybe) at 250 hours and 700's don't?

Does the blower allow that much smaller of a cam?
