Default what are race boat category?

I drove anything fron go-kart up to indy light, so I know the scale, of wich type is the smallest and inexpensive serie, and wich is the biggest and most expensive one...

Not in boats!

Can anyone tell me what are the different categories, from the smallest to the biggest, what boats model are involved, is there a northern U.S championship, and a south one? or it is all one thing across the u.s. ?

In other word, is there a cheap race serie championship in northern U.S. that does not require the expenses of travelling all across U.S ?

These days thats almost impossible to answer without a huge amount of typing, unfortunately there are far to many. If you are looking for the best bang for the buck look into OPA's Class 6. It is a speed bracketed class with a breakout of seventy mph and has some great competitive guys in it. The bulk of the racing is in NJ, NY, MD and the Great Lakes. Pending where you are at in Quebec you are about equal distance to most of our sites, an easy days drive. I wouldnt call it cheap but you can get a lot of bang for the buck, awesome group and always wiling to help a new guy get into the sport.
