Default Need help: Predator 30(AMT) who has been in one?

There is a Predator 30 for sale on another web site. Its a 2008 C30, with twin Opti's.

I haven't been able to get through to Arnauldo at Predator, so I figured I'd try asking around here.

Has anyone seen one in person?
Anyone have any idea if it has a porpoise?, if so at what speeds?
Top speed?
Overall quality and finish?

I've owned a 30 Skater with twin 300's, so I'm familiar with the Cat's and their quirks. I am more concerned with how the Predator handles, turns, handles the rough, and what its real top speed is.

The gentleman representing the boat says 97mph, the ad says over 100mph, he also says it could use a tunnel tab.

I dont want a boat that needs a tab, and I won't be happy if it doesn't hit triple digits.

Need help!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Gary

You may want to call Diamond Marine. They rigged three 30' predators cats. they would probably have the best feed back.

I owned and raced a 30 AMT laid up by LA Marine. Thats the boat your molds came from. My boat was very fast and handling was outstanding Still my favorite boat. Mine did have a plate from the last step to the transom that went form 0-1/4" to keep it level at speed. It did porpoise a little at about 90mph.

My lay up was very light, too light so it need to be strengthened. Also the tanks leaked. Arnoldo builds a stronger Boat and has a reputation for top quality, but you need to stay on him for competition. Check how he builds his tanks.

Mine with 280 race engines ran 118 mph.

All of the 30 foot cats have the same bottom. The deck is what changes. Currently there are thee versions of the deck:
C30 Canopy

Thanks everyone for the replies, although, I still haven't had anyone answer my questions. I've only been directed to the site, which doesn't answer any of my questions.

Anyone?

I have bin to his shop great guy. Must keep in mind is weight, he builds great products not sure if anyone knows finished weight. As u know with cats its all about weight and balance.I would ask him to widen tunnel, that's what dougwright did. That mold was also dougwrights for a short time.Quality seems good, but if u add options may add weight good luck
