The Solomons OPA race is hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association. (CBPBA). The "Chick in a fishing boat" is the girlfriend of one of our directors. They were one of the many volunteers (and their boats) that participated in the putting on of the race. As Ron can confirm, it takes A LOT to put on a race. It's not just a group of people that decide to get together and do some racing!!! Our race director Mike Yowaiski (KaraokeMike on OSO) works year round to put on this event every year. Fantastic job Mikey!!!

Great job on the production of the show!!!!

Even if it's just for a few second, it's cool as chit to get to see our boat(and other club members and coverage of our Poker Run) on TV multiple times during a show. :D

That chick was awesome. That whole flip scene took a lot longer than it looked and she did like 90 percent of the work while the guys sat and watched her. Fortunatly one of our four cameramen was on the boat with her.

Frankly I believe this is the highest quality show ever produced on Offshore Racing and at a cost of 50k per episode please try to appreciate what we have done for you and the sport in general. Also please know that without the financial support of AMSOIL, GEICO and OPTIMA Batteries this should would not be on the air.

As for Mikey and CBPRA. They are simply the best and most accomidating club that we work with, bar none.

Next week, racing from Orange Beach in BIG Water. Enjoy.

Ted G. got a lot of face time too. Nice job Ted!

And thanks Ron. I for one appreciate the effort, time and $$ that goes into a production like this. Hopefully sponsors/potential sponsors take notice and start getting behind some of these teams...

Here's Episode Three: Solomons

pantara514 12-08-2011 03:54 PM

This is by far the greatest show on Tv Thank You

HiPerf2000 12-08-2011 09:36 PM

i dvr'd all of them. just finished watching todays episode.

So far I think its a great production ! You do a pretty good job Ron ! Its more "reality tv" format, but it works well.

It sure beats the old days of watching racing with the TV sound on MUTE.....(cause I was tired of hearing "fountain powerboats" every 8 seconds) :)

Yep ! It was the Camden race in 2005 that you rode along with me. I think I may have pictures on my office PC. I'll post them next week if I find any of you.

Racerngr1 12-08-2011 10:21 PM

Really enjoyed the episode tonight! I wish there we some more "at speed" shots though.

Thanks for the kind words Ron, you know we appreciate the great relationship we have with the OPA and try to make every year a little better than the last. Mike deserves a lot of credit for all the work he has put into Solomons and that comes from someone that knows :lolhit:

[QUOTE=Big Time;3562401]Ted G. got a lot of face time too. Nice job Ted!

Thanks! But damn I gotta lose some weight, I have the perfect looks for radio :lolhit::lolhit:

Aside from that the productions are the best I have ever seen related to offshore racing, Andrew and his crew have it nailed!
