What drives are you planning on using?

Is anybody offering LS engines. In auto world are cheap and durable. Have really hurt the small block.

Sorry manufacturer said 400hp at prop pushes it 110, I misunderstood what they said. Thought that was pretty optimistic, but even with 496ho that is really good

I'd bet 400hp outboards would get that boat to 110!!!!!! YEEEHAAA.

400 Hp in a small block is easy to do. A GM crate ZZ383 makes 425 HP at 5400 and 460 ft/lbs of torque. My 355 built in 1995 with off the shelf Dart iron heads and a Crane,
http://www.cranecams.com/product/car...detail&p=24208, made 424 hp and 445 ft lbs. By the way if you compare the specs that Crane cam appears to be the same as the one in the GM ZZ383. If I were to do it myself I would start with a larger motor (420-430 ci) Some better flowing heads, and I would most likely use that camshaft again but pair it with some 1.6 rockers. I bet that would make close to or slightly over 500 hp over 500 ft/lbs, and still be able to idle through all of the no wake zones with ease (mine idles all day at roughly 600 rpms). Of course this is if I were to stay with a conventional small block. My first choice would be to go LSX, but that is another debate.
