This is a reasonable idea for an older TS TG redo also! Buy a boat that needs power and put these motors in it, you know it will go 80 out of the box. You might be dollar for dollar even on blue motor rebuilds w/headers vs new 8.2's with warranty.
430hp per side will not get an older 38 ft boat to 80mph |

One thing that you need to know is that if you run a boat with catalaytic converters is that if you run out of gas, the catalaytic converters will serverly overheat and become junk and will need to be replaced.
Most converters go bad when something else causes the engine to dump un-burnt fuel down the exhaust, such as a constant ignition misfire. The unburnt fuel is trapped by the converter, starts an internal fire and destroys or clogs the converter itself. |
Nice avatar!
Boat is great, depending on price. I think Cig should make a 35 with 502's as it's entry level boat. |

I don't agree. Today's boats are faster because of advanced composites (lighter), steps, and better bottoms.

I like the looks and high hour no rebuild.
Funny a while back there was a 38 Fountian in OSO for sale with 496's and most said it wouldn't be enough power. |
