I sent Byng an email about needing a seal for the end of my port side steering cylinder and he let me know that they are closed... man, thats too bad.:(

Agreed :(

Does anyone know what they are doing with any leftover stock? I would like to buyone of those sockets that go on the strainer lids that doesn't scar them up.

PARADISE ISLAND 12-18-2011 09:24 PM

I'd send Byng an email and find out.. he mentioned he has some spare parts, but I don't know what he's got yet.

He asked if I could have my cylinder seal repaired locally, and I'll check around to find out. If I can't come up with anything, I'm sure he'll have a suggestion for me.

Call Byng his ## still works bro!!!

sean stinson 12-19-2011 06:09 AM

As far as I know according to Byng he is still selling items but just got rid of the overhead of the store front. Since steering systems are becoming obsolete these days I would imagine that the rest of his products don't justify a store front!!!

cigrocket 12-19-2011 07:46 AM

I tried to buy a set of sea strainers from him about a month ago. He didn't have a match set, I knew that it was probably the end. He also said he wouldn't be getting anymore. Sad to see it happen.

Nooooo! I was just going to send rams in for rebuild. Anyone have an alternative???

BLee 12-19-2011 10:26 AM

That's terrible. They make some great stuff. Latham has really stepped it up lately though.

According to this thread, if you are a business owner you should say you are closing then everyone will want to buy all of a sudden.
