Wellcraft Excaliber

Particularly mid 80's 27ft'r. Solid boat with a bbc? Or an expensive headache? Experiences? Pictures?

Good solid old wood, but be prepared to run in the 60's on a good day.

Rumor has it that the cockpit are cramped! Thoughts?

4bus 12-21-2011 08:30 AM

It's no rumor  Note there are two people in this picture, no cooler. The 25 is worse, but this is pretty bad

Get it surveyed...........

JERSEY DEVIL 12-21-2011 10:09 AM

got one and gutted it and added bulk heads but when done ran real good if you can find yourself a 27 activator its a modern 27 excalibur and a serious fast rough water boat

How fast/what power?

@texoma, its a sub 5K boat, maybe as low as 4K if she runs decent and passes a visual inspection, I'm not sure a survey is worth time/money in this case.

4bus, that 99 outlaw is nice but I've got a line on something better for the same $$$ PM me about it :grinser010:

I'd survey the motor as well - leak down and compression test should be easy on that big single engine boat.

I had a 1982 rerigged it with a 540 640 hp and did a bravo in it and set the drive height at 19 inches.. Boat ran 85mph all day every day... best I ever went was 87....that hull is a great hull and awesome in the ruff stuff for it's size.Great boat cockpit is a little small because of the 7ft beam but all in all good boat..

excalibur82 12-21-2011 01:23 PM

With a 330 and a trs my buddy's would run 60ish and you can fit 5 people.....

machloosy 12-21-2011 03:41 PM

JERSEY DEVIL 12-21-2011 04:36 PM
