I have a AWD 6.0 Escalade EXT and am looking for my first "power boat". I am more than happy with my current truck and with most boats I see in the 30' range I am going to be too heavy. So I think a single engine 25/27' will be my entry into power boating.

Not 100% but what do you guys think?

Don't want a slip at this time, it will be my first faster boat (so not looking for over kill), and 110% plan on keeping my current truck and not adding another rig as I already have 3.

A single in the 25/27 range would prolly be just fine behind your escalade as long as its not a tall heavy boat. But i do know that an escalade towing in that range your MPG is gonna be in the 5-8MPG range!!! Just a thought.....

I live about about 10 min or 5 miles from Seminole boat dock in Clearwater with direct access to the gulf so the poor mpg is no big deal. Just love the truck, jusy got it, and don't want to give it up for a boat or at least not at this point.

Looking at a 27 fever, 25 outlaw, or 26 velocity so just want to be ok.

Well Well, I gotta hand it to you this has got to be your most popular post ever :lolhit: I didn't read all the garbage previous to me because I've read it all dozens of times. My recommendation would be to drive both and then determine how much towing you will do and make your own decision, and yes always be safe, but lets face it a 1 ton DRW VS SRW will stop just as well, the only factor would be if you do alot I mean ALOT of hwy travels the DRW will be nice while being passed bye semi's and in the occasional wind storm, whatever you do come join us for our poker run next year!:grinser010:

Went from a SRW to DRW once, couldn't get rid of it soon enough. If you ever plan on doing any driving in the snow, forget the Dually. My 2500 Denali HD pulls and Stops my Fountain perfectly.

You are right duallies in the snow suck. The only way they will move is in 4 wheel drive.

My dad did the same, went all out in 99 Ford 350 crew DRW, bye 02 he traded for a 350 Ext cab SRW, last of the 7.3's
