I was watching a fishing show down here in Houston late last night and they showed a 33 CC with a single 250 Opti just crusing around Bimini but they never pictured it running hard on top.

The Boat show, down here in Houston, is next week and I'm looking at the twin setup.

I was google'ing all day today at work and came across Hydrotec Phase 3 kits for my Yamaha 200 HPDI's. He had some 200's tweaked to 276hp!

I also have a '01 250 Ficht but not really interested in finding another 250 Ficht to make a set.

Folks as a newbie thanks for the input it is greatly appreciated.

On a Scarab Sport, you need twin 250's or better. A single engine will not cut it on that boat. As far as the comparison to the Superboat, the only similarity is they start with "S", and that's about it. I love Superboats, I have owned more than one, but it's apples and oranges.

Those 250xs sports would be perfect.

I think part of the problem is I'm thinking of the older Scarab Sport which is pretty similar to the superboat.

the newer ones are totally different. The older model weighs a bit more than the superboat but with a single you would make up 200-300 pounds putting the boats within 500 or so pounds of each other. the newer ones weigh in a LOT more.

so... what year is it?

F350 is way too heavy at 822 lbs.

try a pair of F300s. These weight in at 588lbs each.

Or if budget are tight, rebuild what you have or trade in what you got and go with some Ox66s 250hps.

I just put a pair of the Yamaha F300's on my 30' scarab CC this winter- They're the perfect motor for the boat(had old merc 250's). It runs 65mph and cruises around 50mph at about 4Krpm. Shifts like a dream and great throttle response.
