Found a few pictures from the Lamborghini factory museum from a few years back. Figured I'd share. Pretty cool motors, and they are HUGE in person.

Why do they do the intake like that ?

They dont go fast enough for ran effect, and curious what keeps the water out, when they go threw a rooster tail.

Pull air from a cool low pressure area. Has drains if water comes in. The motor has a filter on intake.

The intakes face forward, if you want low pressure they would face to the rear. Filters would limit the air flow.

Why is the hole so small, its a v12

I was thinking low pressure bec of the aerodynamics of those cats. Maybe they believe like on a jap sportbike that they create some pos pressure. F1 cars use the same style intake. And when you see them in person they are decent size. The air filters keep moisture out and smooth air flow.

The hole is a restrictor to regulate hp.

Yep, Eddie is correct. we did some twin turbo BBCs for Abu Dhabi that had to run inlet restrictors per rules. The air at the inlet had to be close to supersonic. It just doesn't seem right:lolhit:

Thanks I knew there had to be an illogical reason.

The intake is way too small.

Interesting way to restrict power, easy to measure.

any RPM restriction
