I almost went in to a diatribe over this. I know you are just passing along the info. Just sad they have had to invest loads of time and money to create motors that coat far more and achieve nothing for something not broke. How many jobs did this cost merc? I could go on and on. None of us want to ruin the water we play in but the regs are so arbitrary and rely on crap science. Ok I am done(:

Where you and I part company is over two words: "achieve nothing." Mercury's OptiMax two-stroke and Verado four-stroke technologies have achieved quite a bit. Reduced emissions with improved overall performance? That's a pretty neat trick.
