Last year after reading about Bob and his trips my wife and I said why not, ran up the Keys to Miami and crossed to Bimini, played around a week and crossed back perfect weather the whole time.

'07 and '11 Active Thunder thunder Runs into the Keys from Pompano. 1st year was with Brian Tillet (Sydwayz) on Monsoon, we left Pompano stopped in Miami then across Card Sound to Gilberts then on to our destination Key Largo Grande. We ran with #1 and #2 33 Evolutions, 3 37's and Boatfreak (Mike Case) in his 496 powered 28 Savage. We had a 50' Hustler hang with us for a bit til a steering issue made him drop the boat off at Haulover and his crew and him rode the rest of the way on the 28 Savage. On the way back we came out onto Biscayne Bay into big water. I'd say 8' to 10's with a few bigger ones thrown in. Coming in the inlet we launched off of one wave and went thru the next one and cracked the windscreen. A good time!! Thanks Brian.
2011 Active thunder Run on Mike Cases 37 Excess Active Thunder powered by 2 Youngs Performance N/A 572's pushing the AT to 90+mph. We had 6 37' Excess's and a center console Fountain on the run this year. We left Pompano and ripped it to Miami where we spent the night. Next morning we went to Gilberts for lunch. During lunch we got news of a storm coming in from the south so we beelined it thru the back bays of the Keys and out in to the Atlantic to Hawks Cay. Great time at Hawks Cay for a few days then a run back out into th Atlantic with 4-5's til we got back inside. We heard that the water was huge in the Atlantic off of Miami so some went inside and some went outside. We went inside since I've never seen it. Great sites and a great time. Thanks Mike!
2009 Key West Worlds. We tow my brothers 41 Apache "Indian Outlaw" 29 hours straight thru from Penna. to Key West. Huge water off of Mallory Square and with 1800+ HP to play with we had a blast! Thanks big brother Ike! Looking forward to Miami in February.

Good times John...Good times. The Thunder Runs we have had almost every January starting back in 2002 have been great. You just really can't beat the Keys for boating. Getting things ready right now for the Miami Boat Show run so maybe we'll have another trip to talk about.

Artie, We had to reseal a Seawater pump in Monsoon that started to leak as we were headed out of the intercoastal. Brian pulled up to a beach and we got it done.
